Site Work
We cut ranch roads and driveways and build house pads and building pads. Culverts go in where the water crosses, and the property's own rock often becomes the road base.

Land grading shapes the ground so it sits level where you need it and sheds rain where it should. Intex Rock and Cedar Solutions grades lots, homesites, yards, pastures and driveways around Kyle and across the Hill Country. We do the work with the skid steer, the tractor and the backhoe. Land grading is one part of our site work, the service that builds the roads, driveways and pads themselves.
Grading moves dirt and rock from the high spots into the low spots on the same ground. That is cut and fill, done with the material your property already has. After land clearing, rough grading takes the ground from cleared to flat. The finished slope sends rain toward the ditch or the draw.

Rough grading is the step after clearing. With the cedar and brush gone, the skid steer or the tractor cuts the humps and fills the dips. The oaks and the other trees you want kept stay, and we grade around them.
Rocky ground needs one more step before a yard can be leveled. Loose surface rock gets ground in place with rock milling, which turns it into caliche base. Boulders too big for that get broken with the hydraulic hammer. Then we grade the yard smooth so turf or sod can go down.
Good lot grading sends rain away from the spots where it should not stand. On a house pad or a building pad area, the ground should slope away from the foundation. Under the International Residential Code, the grade should fall at least 6 inches within the first 10 feet. Inside a city, the building department says which code applies to your lot.
Water also has to leave the lot somewhere safe. The Texas Water Code sets the limit here. No one may divert or dam up natural runoff so its overflow damages another person's property. We grade so runoff heads to the ditch, the culvert or the draw it already used.
A washed-out driveway or ranch road is a grading job too. We regrade the washed-out stretch and turn the runoff back to the ditch or the culvert. Cutting a new road or driveway is part of our site work.
Mark the ground before the machines arrive. Flag the property corners, the house or barn site and every tree you want kept. Show us the septic tank and drain field, the well and any buried water or power lines.
State law counts grading with powered equipment that disturbs soil 16 inches deep or more as excavating. Texas 811 says to contact them at least two business days before excavating, not counting weekends and holidays. Public utility companies may not mark lines that run from the meter to the house, Texas 811 says. Getting those private lines marked is the property owner's job.
Some grading needs an office's approval first. Inside Kyle city limits, a permit is required before any construction, so ask the city whether your grading counts. In Dripping Springs, the city's code counts grading and filling as development. The property owner or the builder takes those questions to the office, and we point you there.

I had Intex Rock & Cedar Solutions come out and rock mill about 2 acres of my field, and they did an outstanding job. The difference before and after was incredible. They showed up when they said they would, worked hard, and treated my property like it was their own.
Outstanding job by Trey with Intex Rock & Cedar Solutions! My wife and I were in need of a spot cleared for our future home and Trey exceeded our expectations. He also helped us with removing some old existing piers and leaving the ground nice and level. Highly recommend!
We recently had them out for a major project involving cedar clearing and rock crushing, and the results are incredible. They didn't just clear the land; they transformed the terrain. Their rock milling and crushing equipment turned rough, unusable limestone into a smooth, walkable surface.
